D. R. With Chase's release of "Glen & Precipice" (an entirely black metal album with no clean parts), this was quite a different change, but a nice change. Each piece is beautiful and definitely gives off the feeling of each season it is trying to represent.

A little diversion from black metal. An EP of four short acoustic tracks experimenting with the four seasons.

Wind to give fall leaves flight.
Snow to blanket the mountains.
Melt to fill the rivers and lakes.
Fire to destroy and bring forth new life.

"The music on "Ephemeral" can be described as Atmospheric Neo-Folk and consists mainly of Acoustic guitar riffs, but also features piano and harmonica parts, as well as Ambient elements. Like the band's previous records, "Ephemeral" is strongly inspired by the band members' love for nature and creates a really relaxing and beautiful atmosphere that fits this thematic idea perfectly. While an acoustic album is not exactly what one would expect from a Black Metal band it fits perfectly into the band's discography. I highly recommend this short EP to everyone who enjoys the more atmospheric and "contemplative" dimension of Black Metal and of course to everyone who likes Ambient and Folk music." -Metalsoliloquy
